1. Introduction

 

In the fourth year of Tongzhi (1865), Master Wei Zhi was born in the Jingguan Hall of the Shuzhai in Yuewang City, Yang County, Taizhen. Looking back at the cause and effect, in addition to a Confucian scholar who is very cautious and honest, there are also Confucius and Mencius who promotes Taoism and educates people, and Cheng and Zhu study things to learn knowledge as the causes. And this kind of energy and connotation of promoting the Tao is now in his “Speech” and “Mencius” and his many years of writings and related chapters.

 

2. The origin of the book name of “big meaning”

 

Mr. Wei Zhi’s teacher wrote many books under the name of “big meaning”. In addition to “Book of Changes”, there are “Book of Changes 1: Night meaning”, “Book of Changes”, “Shang of Changes”, “Hongfan’s Issues”, “Praise”, “Traveling Meaning”, “Doing Meaning”, “Filial Piety”, “Speech” There are more than 20 kinds of meaning, “Mencius’s Issue”, “Two Chengzi’s Issue”, “Luo Xueshi”, “Zhou Zi’s Issue”, “Zhao Zi’s Issue”, “Zhu Zi’s Issue” (The following five kinds of “The Two Chengzi’s Issue” are combined into “Natural Reasoning”), “National Literature”, “National Literature and Softness”, “National Literature and Strong Issue”, “Political Issue”, “The Greatest Issue of the State” and “The Greatest Issue of the State of Saving the Country”, etc., which can be seen that the word “big meaning” is the middle part of his life’s works.
